Overview
Slip-On Plate Flange is a flat plate–type flange designed to slide over the pipe and be welded on both the inside and outside. It combines the cost efficiency of plate flanges with the ease of alignment of slip-on connections, making it a popular choice for waterworks, fire protection, HVAC, and general industrial piping systems.
Manufactured from carbon steel or stainless steel plate, Slip-On Plate Flanges are widely used in low to medium pressure applications where installation convenience, dimensional flexibility, and economic efficiency are required.
Slip-On Plate Flanges are produced by cutting and machining steel plates, with accurately drilled bolt holes and a smooth bore that allows the pipe to slide into position before welding.
After installation, fillet welds are applied on both the inside and outside, ensuring a secure and leak-tight joint.
These flanges are commonly supplied in accordance with EN, BS, SANS, JIS, and ANSI standards, and are available in various pressure ratings such as PN10 / PN16 or Class 150, depending on project requirements.

FAQ
Slip-On Plate Flange is designed for pipe insertion and welding, while a PL (Plate) Flange is typically welded directly to the pipe end without insertion. Slip-On Plate Flanges offer better alignment and easier installation.
Slip-On Plate Flanges are mainly recommended for low to medium pressure applications. For high-pressure or high-temperature services, Weld Neck Flanges are generally preferred.
Normally, double fillet welding is applied:
One weld on the inside
One weld on the outside
This improves strength and leak resistance.
Common standards include:
EN 1092-1
BS / SANS 1123
JIS B2220
ANSI / ASME
The exact standard and drilling pattern must be confirmed before production.
Yes. Flat Face (FF) and Raised Face (RF) are both available, depending on gasket type and system design.
