A threaded bushing (also known as a reducing or hex bushing) is a piping fitting designed to connect pipes or fittings of different diameters within a threaded piping system. It typically features male threads on one end and female threads on the other, allowing a smooth and reliable transition between different pipe sizes. Bushings are widely used in water supply, fire protection, gas, HVAC, and industrial piping systems.
Size reduction function: Enables efficient connection between pipes of different nominal diameters without changing the pipeline layout
Male × female threaded design: Manufactured with standard threads to ensure tight, leak-free connections
Compact and robust structure: High mechanical strength with excellent resistance to pressure and impact
Easy installation: Simple threaded connection allows quick assembly and convenient maintenance
Wide compatibility: Suitable for use with valves, meters, pumps, and other threaded piping components
Threaded bushings are primarily used to reduce pipe size and connect internal and external threaded components in piping systems. They provide a reliable and economical solution for diameter conversion while maintaining system integrity and sealing performance.
Common applications include:
Water supply and drainage systems
Fire sprinkler and fire protection piping
Gas and air pipelines
HVAC systems
General industrial fluid conveying systems
