Our malleable iron bushings are threaded fittings designed to reduce pipe sizes in a safe and leak-proof manner. Product Uses
Application scenarios of bushing in the field of fire protection:
1. Interface size conversion (Reducing Connections)
When the interface sizes of two sections of pipes or equipment are inconsistent, bushing can be used to convert the large-diameter interface to a small-diameter interface.
For example: convert a 2" internal thread interface to a 1" external thread, which is convenient for connecting sprinklers, valves, pressure gauges and other equipment.
2. Sprinkler system nozzle connection
In the wet sprinkler system, bushing is often used to reduce the interface of the main pipe or branch pipe to install the sprinkler.
Some sprinkler head connections require "leading out" a small-diameter branch pipe from the main pipe, and bushing can be used for precise transition.
3. Fire pump or valve interface matching
If the inlet and outlet of the fire pump or valve are different from the main pipe size, bushing can be used for quick reducing connection.
Especially when the outlet of some equipment is non-standard size of imperial/metric, bushing can be used as an intermediate joint.
4. Pressure test port or drain port setting
Set at the inspection port, drain port, vent port, and test port of the pipeline system. Small-sized bushings are also used to connect test instruments or drainage pipe fittings.
